Frequently Asked Questions

General

Do you offer training for my team?

Yes, we offer specialized training for your team. If your company has a certified drone pilot, we can provide tailored training to enhance data capture efficiency and maximize the quality of your results.

Additionally, you'll have a dedicated account manager to ensure a smooth onboarding experience. They will guide your team through the platform, address any questions, and provide support whenever challenges arise.

Can I fly my own drone?

Absolutely! We offer a "Do It Yourself" option that allows you to take control with your own hardware. This means you can purchase and operate your own drone to manage data collection on your terms.

If you choose this option, you'll have the flexibility to plan flights on your timeline and train your in-house team. We can provide guidance on optimizing your flights for data capture to ensure you get the best quality data most efficiently.

Keep in mind that flying your own drone may be more cost-effective if you plan to do regular inspections, have a large site, or multiple sites to inspect. However, you'll need to consider factors like having the proper hardware and a certified drone pilot in your team.

I am flying myself. Do I have to fly manually the whole plant, or is there an automatic solution?

We offer both manual and automatic solutions for flying your plant. You can choose between a "Do It Yourself" option where you operate your own drone, or our fully autonomous dock for continuous data collection.

For automatic flights, we provide a DJI FlightHub Sync option that allows for automatic uploading of data captured by drones using the DJI Dock or Dock 2. This ensures seamless and secure data transfer to our servers without manual intervention.

If you prefer more control, you can fly manually and plan flights on your own timeline. The choice depends on your specific needs and resources. We're happy to discuss which option might work best for your situation.

Thermography Inspections

How many MW’s can we cover per day?

This can vary quite substantially depending on the time of year, the data product that you choose (Thermography vs Thermography Pro) and the resolution (GSD) you go with (IEC 3 cm vs Standard 5.5cm).

These are estimates for an hour of flight time:

Thermography (5.5cm GSD): 30ha

Thermography Pro (5.5cm GSD): 10ha

Does Sitemark offer weather normalization? How does it work?

Yes, we do! The weather normalization feature allows the platform to take the results or your inspection and normalize them to 1000W/m². As irradiance can change throughout an inspection or between seasons this feature is crucial for understanding and comparing anomalies accurately. You can upload data from pyranometers or handheld devices, and we extract relevant weather information based on the timestamp of each anomaly. This normalization helps you make more informed decisions and produce more accurate thermal inspection data.

Can I import data from a third party solution?

Yes, you can import historic data from third-party solutions into our platform. We offer options to port data from various providers. This allows you to centralize all your historical data in one place for comprehensive analysis and record-keeping.

Our system integrates with existing tools, allowing you to import data in various formats such as DXF, TIFF, GeoJSON, KML, and PDF. This helps you avoid data silos and keep all your information in a single place.

To import your data, you'll need to follow specific steps depending on the third-party solution you're using. Generally, this involves exporting the required files from your current platform and then sharing them with our team for import into our system.
